Cookie Notice — softcare.uk

Last updated: 8 June 2026

1. What cookies are

A "cookie" is a small text file that a website can place on your device when you visit it. The UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR also cover other technologies that achieve similar effects, such as browser localStorage, sessionStorage, tracking pixels, and device fingerprinting. We use the word "cookies" in this notice to mean all of these.

Under PECR, a website may set cookies that are strictly necessary for a service the visitor has requested (for example, keeping you logged in, remembering items in a basket, or running a security control) without asking for consent. Any other use of cookies, including analytics and marketing, requires your prior, informed consent.

2. Cookies we currently use on softcare.uk

None. As of the date at the top of this page, the softcare.uk marketing site does not set any cookies or use localStorage, sessionStorage, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or similar technologies. Web fonts are served from our own domain, not from third-party font networks. No analytics, marketing, advertising, heatmapping, session-replay, or chat-widget technologies are loaded.

Because we do not set any non-essential cookies, you will not see a cookie consent banner on softcare.uk. We consider an upfront banner on a site that sets no cookies to be user-hostile noise.

3. If this changes

If in future we decide to use analytics, marketing, or any other non-essential technology covered by PECR, we will:

4. The SoftCare application (demo.softcare.uk and customer tenants)

This notice covers the marketing site softcare.uk only. The SoftCare application may use strictly-necessary cookies or equivalent browser storage to keep you signed in and to maintain session state. These are a requirement for the application to function and are covered by the separate customer Data Processing Agreement and application-side data-processing notice.

5. How to control cookies generally

All modern browsers allow you to see, delete, and block cookies, and to tell you when a site attempts to set one. Instructions are available at aboutcookies.org and on each browser's support site. Blocking all cookies will prevent many websites from working as intended; softcare.uk will continue to work normally because it does not rely on cookies.
